Toward the end of the season after they had gained experience the team managed to tie their games with Manheim Township and Penn Manor. They played their best game of the season against Manheim Town- ship, one of the league's top con- tenders for the title. Overcoming Township's one point first half lead, the hockey team withstood a difficult second-half and came away from the game with a tie. Miss Ruth Bicking coached the varsity team for the first time this season after coaching junior-var- sity for the past three seasons. Miss Bicking was aided by Mrs. Marie Futer who directed the junior- va rsity tea m. . HAS WINNING SEASGN ' pr3CfiCe' For the first time in many years Pequea Valley had a winning basketball team. Much of this can be attributed to the hard work and effort demonstrated by the players and the excellent coaching provided by coach Jeff Bohler. The team went into the playoffs, but unfortunately they lost their first game which was played at Penn Manor. Bill Young, Larry Eisenberger, Jim Hopkins, and Rick Stoltzfus prepare to practice more drills. 1 -:-:- 155,15 W 'XM I we ,4 ,fem 1 X x X 4 fx X X is 5 Wing! ,ws 4 s Q X K X W gyms 1 S ss 5,21 lam v ' wx!
