THIRD IN CO TY The development of a relatively new sport is often rough but the determination of the team along with the patience and optimism of the coach, Robert Siegel, have made cross-country the sport it is at Pequea Val- ley. Although in the victory department the team has been cut short, it is young and the runners are improv- ing more each year. The top runner, called Pequea's Mr, Cross-Country by Coach Siegel, is Vernon Mar- EET shall. As a sophomore, Vernon placed third in the county meet and had the best time and best record on the team. llll ERASMUS WITH FRECKLESH O l l I Bob Wanner, as the captain, repairs a piece of the houseboat's machinery. The junior-Senior play was entitled Erasmus With Freckles . Cast in the lead- ing role as a precocious young boy in love with Brigitte Bardot was Duane Hershey. He lived with his father Bob Leaf Uvlace Hiltonj, two sisters, Pandy and Cissy fLucinda Brackbill and joanne Sangreyl and his Aunt Abigail Uvlaria Morrisl on a houseboat. Resulting from his correction of an error at the Bank of America, a child psychologist, Vina, fDonna Clarkl came to do a study of Erasmus, but seemed to concentrate more on his fa- ther. Finally Erasmus made a mistake, but the story ended on a happy note as the family returned to normal and Vina mar- ried Mr. Leaf. Professor Leaf makes another attempt to persuade Vina not to analyze his son.
