I, f If lartin, -m the Under the advice of Mr. Martin and the direction of Bill Grabovvski, the Student Council sponsored many activities contrib- uting to the success of its year. The Council began its year with the tra- ditional Homecoming Dance followed by American Field Service Day when council members entertained foreign exchange stu- dents from Lancaster County schools. Also sponsored by the council was a swimming party, a dance entitled Fraga Freakoutn held in honor of P.V. exchange student Vicky Fraga, and a Christmas Dance. Members of the council also played an important part in Pequea Valley's evalua- tion program as senior representatives summarized student activities . Under the supervision of Mr, Siegel and Mr. Reed, and the leadership of Betty Brenernan, :the Future Teachers of America As- sociation maintained an active role in Pequea's extracurricular pro- gram. Included in the club's ac- tivities for the year was a student- teacher day in which every member was given an opportunity to teach in an area of his interest. Each club member was given a student -teacher assignment which involved such responsibilities as correcting papers, occasionally supervising a class, preparing labs, recording grades, and doing research. During National Education Week the FTA, in cooperation with the National Honor Society, sponsored a tea for Pequea's faculty and ad- ministrators . FTA CO 'e I.
