The electric ex- citement ofa political campaign s W e pt Pe- quea on Youth Day in Government Election Day, March 15, 1966. For more than a week beforehand juniors and seniors worked franti- cally to obtain the best publicity space and de- sign the most eye- catching posters. The two opposing parties this year were: the V.I.P. CVery Impor- tant Partyj, spear- headed by Rick Gra- bowski and advised by Mr. Musser, and the Inspirator party, strongly led by Denny Deisley and supervised by Mr. McCormick. The moment of decision came later in the day as the sopho- m o r e s , juniors, and seniors went to the polls to vote by ma- chine. The election results surprised everyone: all nine In- s p i r a t o r candidates won offices, causing one of the biggest land- slides in Pequea's his- tory.
