OUR YEARS AT PEQUEA VALLEY Early in September, 1960, we met as a class and elected these officers: President - Glenn Esbenshadeg Vice President - Roy Shirkg Secretary - Judy Millergand Treasurer - Bob Fisher. We actively planned and sponsored a freshman dance, the January Jive after a basketball game. Ninth Grade Night with its theme, Pennsylvania's Heritage, brought a fitting close to an eventful year. With the advent of another year, we, the Class of '64, met as sophomores and elected a President, Glenn Esbenshadeg a Vice President, Gerard DeFrosciag a Secretary, Suzanne Buckwalterg and a Treasurer, Bob Fisher. We ordered our jackets for arrival during the winter months and chose rings with ruby, sapphire, or onyx stones for delivery in our junior year. We also selected light blue and white as the class colors and pickedwhite carnations as the class flowers. Everyone participated energetically to make the Class of '64 one long to be remembered. We enthusiastic juniors met in the fall of 1962 and again elected these officers: Presi- dent - Glenn Esbenshadeg Vice President - Gerard DeFrosciag Secretary - Suzanne Buck- walterg and Treasurer - Bob Fisher. Many juniors were among those ably representing Pequea Valley at County Chorus and District Band. A Girls' Trio and a Boys' Quartet were other musical features of the junior class. An outstanding musical comedy, Swinging High, was presented in the spring with many eminent juniors participating. Athletically, our dedicated Braves helped boost-Pequea Valley to its fifth consecutive District Three championship. The Youth Day in Governmentncampaign and the Junior-Senior play, Take Your Medicine, were other activities in which we whole-heartedly participated. As the year progressed, the class held a Bake and Soup Sale to help finance the Junior-Senior Prom, which had as its theme Italian Escapade. A banquet and a movie highlighted the prom and brought a close to another memorable year. Incredibly, it was school-time again! We - seniors at last! - determined to make ours the participating-est class in the history of Pequea Valley. We selected officers: President - Glenn Esbenshadeg Vice President - Don Ranck, Secretary - Mary Jane Howe, and Treasurer - Gerard DeFroscia. We plunged right into plans for the Junior-Senior play, A Majority of One,- as well as for a trip to New York. What a day that was! Nov- ember 8, 1963, will be remembered by many of us as the day in our high school careers. The climax to our fun- and education-filled years at Pequea Valley came when the com- mencement services were held on June 3, 1964. 4
