This is one of the theses of Dr. Thomas Briggs, Professor of School Administration and Supervision, Columbia University. In other words to have the individual get the right meaning of Life is the ultimate I goal of Education. To have the propeia prospective of Life, and what it means, you ' l will be called upon to make choices wisely and to exercise your opinions cautious- l ly. We trust that the various institutions with which you f Ia I A l have had contacts have given you the mental. and moral courage and equipment to choose as worthy members of our Democracy. 5 I 1 Today, there are many who look with fear and uneasiness into the future - '- I I f 5 fear that--fthe world is headed for disaster, Communism - - uneasy because they X l think the opportunities for youth have passed - Defeatism. Your choices will make a difference. This will 1 depend upon how well you have learned the lessons of industry, honesty, courtesy, cooperation, courage and integrity and how well you can use them, time alone will tell. Your opinions and influence will count.
