limo How proud we were on our first day at Pequea Valley in 1955. We, the .5966 would be the first class to graduate after having completed our entire high school career in the new building. This was our beginning, and we looked for- ward with keen anticipation to the rest of our days at Pequea. We elected as our officers: President - Lanny Ammon, Vice President j- Nancy Beane, Secretary - Joanne Milley, and Treasurer - Paul Hershey. 'This was our year to observe. We busied ourselves by supporting our championship soccer and basketball teams and by attending other school functions to find out just what was going on. Our hine came near the end of the year when we were honored at the first annual Ninth Grade Night . As sophomores we elected the following officers: President, James Eck- man, Vice President - Lanny Ammon, Secretary - Joanne Milley, Treasurer - Paul Hershey. To increase the small amount in our treasury, we sponsored a dance after the Warwick basketball game. We called it The Sock Hop . Fond memories of dancing in stocking feet have been held by all who attended. A grand time was had during the swimming party at Millersville when everyone manned a water pistol. The school year was brought to a perfect end at Red Point. We even made the headlines on that one. chance to s Our junior year, which proved to be a year of hard work and honest ef- fort, was begun by our ordering school jackets and class rings. Then to work we went. We sponsored a car wash on one of those cold fall days. Our hard workers slowly dwindled down to a few, as this was the time the Asian flu began to spread through the student body. We worked hard to promote the success of the Junior-Senior Play, Room for the Groom . Our assembly program, in the form of a variety show, was presented in January. Once again we spon- sored a dance. This time The Bandstand Bop was our theme. Lanny and the Juniors certainly was the main attraction and reason for a big success. Memories of a blizzard and attending school on Saturday also enter into the picture at this time. Plans for the reception-prom began to develop, and before we knew it we were once more racking our brains for ideas. We decided upon Rhapsody in Blue as our scheme for decorating. What a great time we had preparing for it, and how pleased we were when all ended well! Our class officers for the year were: President - Nancy Beane, Vice President - Charles Perella, Secretary - Joanne Milley, and Treasurer - Paul Hershey. A trip to Red Point once again brought an end to a successful year. The all important year, finally, was no longer just around the corner. It was here, and we were determined to make the most of it. The following officers were elected: President - Nancy Beane, Vice President - Lanny Ammon, Sec- retary - Joanne Milley, and Treasurer - Paul Hershey. Our first project was that of au bake and soup sale, which proved profitable. The annual trip to the United Nations Building materialized on November 21. Once again much tune and effoftfvas Put into the Junior-Senior Play by our class members. The Nlght was Dark couldn't have had better character parts for the '59ers.
