The medical staff of the school ciistrict is con- aiert, encleavoring to safeguard the com- munity,s health. This past year's activity included stantiy on the the following: 1. Daily nursing care hy hirs. Rhoda Hostetter. 2. Physical examinations for the designated classes hy the three school doctors: Dr. Robert Bauer, Dr. George Beacher, Dr. David Krusen. 3. Dental examinations hy Dr. Robert Cranciaii for grades 7-9-11. 4. A series of three Salk-Polio Vaccine injections administered to the community members With- in the eiigihie age group. 5. Series of two injections for immunity to in- fluenza '- Asian type -1 administered to the school staff as prescribed hy the state cate- gories.

Class officers at Paradise were: M Blaine Shirlc, Vice President -- Norma Dilfenbaugh, Secretary ,- giesiffb Inger and Treasurer ,- Warren Peister. At Salisbury the class olli- Dorn erin lpresliclf-nt i-f Robert Kern, Vice President '- James VVallcer, Secre- cers w I - - lflrv ,. lVlary Ellen Rice, and Treasurer - John Lacoclc, withuclass advisors as Q13 Nwilcer at Paradise and Mr. Eclcert at Salisbury. At Paradise. we had a hay- iu rl November and a party, Wlqhe Teddy Bear s Picnic , inVMarch. AC- lfcfflieli galisbury included an trip to the Lancaster County Courthouse in N0- xlflgbsr and a picnic at VVheat1and Parlc in May- 1955-56 VVe started our sophomore year at the new school by electing class officers. They Were: President F- Robert Kern, Vice President i- Jacob Rutnt, Secretary ,- Doris Denlinger, and Treasurer - Blaine Shirlc, and our class advisors were Mr. Eckert and Mr. Craver. Une of our first duties was to decide class dues which were set at 31.50. To get acquainted, we had a hayricle which went to Rhoades Spanish Tavern in Quarryville for refreshments. To earn money, we sponsored a dance, HCupid,s Caperu, after a baslcetball game with Upper Leacoclc. Qther ac- tivities included a swimming party, Wlqhe Sophomore Spritz , at Millersville State Teachers College and a get-together at Emmaiane Robinson s cabin at VVhite 1956-57 VVith the summer flying by, we found ourselves as juniors at Pequea Valley. VVe elected the following class -officers: President ie Blaine Shirlc, Vice President - Robert Kern, Secretary 1- Doris Denlinger, and Treasurer --1 John Lacoclc, with Mr. Denlinger and Mrs. Conier as our class advisors. VVe set 35.00 as our class dues. Members of the class worked hard to malce the Junior-Senior play, HAdam,s Eveningu, a big success. 1n late November, we became the proud owners ol red and white melton class jaclcets and blue spinel class rings. As a money malcing project, we again sponsored a dance, HThe Braves Last Standu, alter the last basketball game of the season. HDoc!s Dixieland Bands, helped to malce it a big success. Unce again our class was put to worlc, this time on our bake which was held at Paradise Fire Hall and Gap Truclc Shed. Qur year was highlighted by our Junior-Senior Reception and Prom on May 18. Mcuch hard worlc was put into the event, but we were rewarded by the fine outcome of it. Crystal Beach, Maryland. 1957-58 Gur dream was finally fulfilled when, in September, we entered Pequea Valley as seniors with class advisors as Mr. Denlinger and Mrs. Schuler. Class officers elected were: President i- Blaine Shirlc, Vice President -1 Robert Kern, Secretary ff Doris Denlinger, and Treasurer r-f John Lacocli. ln Qctober we started worlc on the Pequoian which continued throughout the year. On No- vember 22, we as seniors toolc the annual trip to the United Nations Building in New Yorlc City and on the day following this trip, our Junior-Senior play, HROOITI for the Groom , was held. VVe sponsored the lirst two dances ol the basketball season,T The Jingle Bell Roclcn, following the East Lampeter game and 66711116 Crew lxeclc Caper , following the game with VVarwiclc. A trip to the larm show at 1 1arr1sburg and the State 'Capitol Building was made on January 13. ln the 51911198 01 the Year, We held a balce to help finance our trip to VVashington. VVG 9lT0 Presented HU HQSGIUIJIY Drogram to the student body. Qur last month in high if wolwas fllled with many exciting events. Qur final trip as a class was a two Sfgetzgtlot WajhIgUQtEH,.D..C., where we tool: in many sights. Un May 17.
