 Happily Ever After-Ten years Later performed by Alpho Omega Kappa (AOK's), Heldelbergers. and Friends. Once Upon A Songfcsi” was the ihcmc of Songfcsi 1988. a Pepperdinc University tradition, as different organizations performed favorite fables, stories and myths. As the plots twisted and turned, these talcs were re-told as never before. For example, the AOK's performed Happily Ever After—Ten Years Later and the Pi Phi's and Tau Rho’s performed Alice’s Adventures in ... Hollywood. The groups perform within strict limitations. They must be comprised of at least 25 members, but not more than 50. Their rehearsal period is limited to 2 1 2 weeks, and their expenses must not exceed S300. Rehearsal time is wrung out of conflicting schedules, tests, research papers and work. I his makes most already busy students really push themselves to the limn to produce a Coherant performance under incredible time constraints. This pressure is part of what brings the individuals together—making friendships and memories that last long past the final chorus of Let There Be Peace on Earth. Although fun and friendship are at the heart of Songfcsi. spirited competition plays an important role as well. Each performance is judged by a group of special guests. At the final performance, awards are given for achievement in music, choreography, enthusiasm, set design, costumes and theme. A sweepstakes award is presented for the best group overall. This year's sweepstakes award w inner was the members of Alpha Psi Omega, the theatre honor group, and Friends. The Pepperdinc tradition of Songfest was introduced to the Malibu campus in 1972. From a single night performance on the liny stage of Elkins Auditorium it has grown to five performances before capacity crowds. Alumni and parents from across the country join with students, faculty and friends in celebrating this joyous musical homecoming. oonlight Harvest By Susie Koziol Scaver students dress up in their most formal attire- sharp black tuxes and fun. colorful taffeta dresses. Limousines arrive on Pcpperdinc's Seavcr Campus and park in front of many of the dorms. The mid-winter dance of the trimester is about to begin.
