Poiing for ihe phoiogrophert were Princeiiet Jacquelyn Todd Carol Hamilton, Nolo Newton, Belly too Denniion. and Queen Belly Brougher. 1956 HOMECOMING Introducing our queen and court! With these words the Homecoming co-chairmen officially opened the nineteenth annual Pep-perdine Homecoming Week, Presented to the student body were five young ladies elected to Icod the week's festivities. Succeeding last year's queen, Betty Reeve, was Miss Betty Brougher. A second-year transfer from Glendale City College, Betty was a princess on the 1955 Court. Assisting as princesses were four Inglewood girls Miss Betty Lou Dennison, a senior English major and president of Kappa Kappas; Miss Carol Hamilton, a sophomore elementary education major and member of Zeta Kappas; Miss Nola Newton, an elementary education major ond member of Kappa Kappa,- and Miss Jackie Todd, a sophomore drama major, song queen, and member of Zeta Kappas.

 HOMECOMING COMMITTEE To produce o week with wcll-orgonized octivities, each doy takes imagination, hord work, energy, ond a super-abundance of patience. There were bonfire permits, clothes for the fashion show, a speoker for the Sports Bonquel, someone to crown the Queen, convertibles for the Court, ond a hundred other preparations to make before the Week even began. But, working with a committee of fifteen student leaders, Ron Cameron and Jim Brinlon. Homecoming Co-Chairmen, gave the Pepperdine student body and alumni a first-rote Homecoming Week. Firtl row. Mondoy, following chapel, Ron and Jim introduced the Queen and her Court, officially opening the week's activities. On Tuesday night there was an all-school Hallowe'en party in the gym ond auditorium. Speaking to members of all our athletic squads was Bob Richords, twice Olympic chompion. The Homecoming Court wot also honored at the Sports Banquet. Thursday night was playnight in the gym followed Friday night by the Homecoming Show, featuring the coronation of Oueen Betty Brougher ond her court by les Richter of the Rams. Climaxing Homecoming Week was the Santa Barbara football game which Pepperdinc won 21-9. There wot a Fifth Ouorter afterwards, effectively closing on outstanding Homecoming Week. 31
