MEAN AND GREEN A FIRST A WIN It seems that there has been a lot of talk about who really won the Peoria Sunnyslope game Our first game wtll be remembered as a t1e to us but was it really? With a score of 0 O the game was over technically but a referee thought differently. It was decided that the game was to go into sudden death, being that the team with the most yards at the end of four plays wins by one point. Since the game was not a play off or a Divisional game, the sudden death rule does not apply therefore the game was a tie. The game was well fought guys, stay mean for the green. - Heather Smith On September 20 playing before 4 OOO fans the game between 3rd ranked Cactus and Peorra began The Cobras scored first with a 4 yard run late in the first quarter Then missing the extra point Cactus led 6 0 Peoria then scored 6-6, after a 14-yard dash by Roy Mercado. The score remained tied until Cac- tus scored, giving Cactus a 12-6 lead- With less than 30 seconds left, Marlo Cobos retaliated by running 3-yards forthe game-tying touchdown. Hoping for the extra point, Tony Camino's kick sailed through the goal- posts. Peoria finally beat Cactus 13-12. - LeeAnn Trimble
