Gemfraf Sings l hear America singing . . All of the students at Peoria l-ligh School through the years have done their part in sing- ing songs of loyalty and praise, not only to their country, but also to their school-Peoria l-ligh School-of which they are so proud. The halls of Peoria l-ligh School ring with songs sung in her praise-some fast and rousing like our Varsity Song, and some reverent and almost sacred, such as our Loyalty Song. ln our theme for this i955 CREST, we have tried to bring all the school songs to the eyes of the readers. We want to show everyone why we are proud of Peoria l-ligh School. ln the Table of Contents we have written the words of these songs. The School Life section portrays the lives of the students during this past year, both in school and in the extra-curricular activities. The students have put forth shining examples of an ideal high school life, and we know they will continue to do so. Therefore, we believe that the song Central Will Shine belongs to this section. The faculty may be compared to the coach of a football team. lust as the coach instructs and teaches the players the means to achieve touchdowns, so the teachers instruct and teach the students the ways to reach their goals. Therefore, we have applied the rous- ing song, We Want a Touchdown, to the Faculty section. The Students-the four classes-all are proud to attend Peoria l-ligh School. When they stand and sing the P.l-l.S. Loyalty Song, they express their love, esteem, and gratitude to their school. The Activities section shows the various in- teresting student organizations which rate an appreciative Hurrah for the sidelights that are brought in outside the classroom. ln every one of the Sports, our teams have brought victory and fame to Peoria l-ligh School. For this reason we proudly sing l-lail to the Varsity. P The Advertising section is composed of the ads placed in our book by citizens interested in supporting- Central.
