PRISCILLA HERGET, Hail to Our Champions! These pages are dedicated, not only to all Central Champions, but also to those players and teams who worked hard, but did not gain recognition. . This year we had a winning basketball team which blazed a trail ot glory through the Re- gional and Sectional Tournaments, and then defeated Highland, West Frankfort, and Schlar- man to wind up as the second-place team in the Sweet Sixteen tournament! Our swimming team was Big Twelve Champ ln addition Ned Loar holds the state record for the 200-yard freestyle. Our football team had a fine record, and topped it oft by beating Manual in the Turkey Day Game! A Cappella was invited to Milwaukee for the National Music Contest. ln a sense, everyone at Central is a Champ forthe magazine campaign to finance athletics was backed by everyone!
