Civilization in the Orient has existed since 2500 B.C.i however, the entire culture was not fully developed at that time -- quite the contrary. It only started then, and ever since has grown through the contributions of all the people. The creation of this book, like the growth ol a culture, did not come from one meet- ing, nor was it the idea of one single person. The individual ideas ol the entire stall were pooled, and from this combination emerged the first faint picture ol the 1948 CREST. We hope that the completed work will preserve the motto of the CREST stall: Every year, a better CREST.
