MUSIC DEPARTMENT The first activity of the band this year was the spring concert. The arrangement of the concert was centered around a winter scene and Christmas skit, which was different from previous years and attracted quite a crowd. The band is also planning a concert for the coming spring. We are proud of the excellent rating of the students in the solo and ensemble contest this year. Those receiving first in the Class D contest were: Eddie Bigelow, Ken Kessler, Boyd Arnold, Dean Gustafson, and a trio composed of Ken Kessler, Joey Rellinger, Glen Craig. Richard Hatfield received a third. At the District Eddie, Boyd, and Kenny received second places. we are looking forward to several exchange programs with different schools in the coming months. All in all this year has been quite prosperous and we will sincerely miss the seniors of WSSW next year in band. Eight of the band members who will graduate are Shirley Johnson, Kay Kessler, Nancy Squire, Roberta Gregwer, Margie Leversey, Pat Schader, Mary Jo Palmer, and Barbara Baker.
