SENIOR CLASS HISTORY High school has passed quickly for the Senior class of 5h-55. It wasn't more then two months after school started, in September of 5H, that we were struck, and really struck with Senioritis. We had our pictures taken, ordered our graduation gowns, invitations, thank you cards, and name cards. Our most thrilling experience by far, was the planning of our senior trip to washington D. C. Looking back through the years we find we have had many thrilling exper- iences. Oh, Yes --- Our Freshmen year started out with a real bang, the tortures of initiation were inflicted upon us by the Scphomores, who carried out the countless tricks in the traditional spirit. Our Freshmen year, however, was not all that of happiness for we lost a member of our class, Dorcas Cooke, who died in 1952. You could never have found a bunch of prouder Sophomores, for we were the first Sophomore class in years to hold all offices of the Student Council, Mary Jo Palmer-President, Ray Parnell-Vice President, and Shirley Johnson as Secretary-Treasurer. We d1dn't stop there, we revised the school paper, the HEchoN, and had it going full force. In our Junior year two of our members again took Student Council offices, Mary Jo-President and Shirley-Secretary-Treasurer. This was also the year we presented our first play HKeep Movingn which was a very successful event in everyones opinion. Our class rings added a great deal to the memories of that year and we still look at them with admiration. Then before we knew it we were making plans for the Junior-Senior Prom, which turned out to be one of our most memorable events. Our theme was NAlice in Wonderlandn and music was provided by the Owen and Styles' Orchestra. All at once we found ourselves Seniors and making all kinds of plans for Commencement, and we once again took Student Council officers, Barbara Baker- President, Ray Parnell-Vice President, and Shirley Johnson-Secretary and Treasurer. An interesting factor this year was discovered, eight of the nineteen members in our class started school together. They are Gladys Coon, Pat Schader, Roberta Gregwer, Frank Venn, Ray Parnell, Saralee Parnell, Nancy Squire, and Cora Graham. The other members of the class are: Shirley Johnson, Tom Hass, Marjorie Leversey, Darrell Martin, Carl Ringwald, Louie Frank, Beatrice and Barbara Warner, Kay Kessler, Barbara Baker and Mary Jo Palmer. There have been many different plans made for the future by each member of the class, but whatever they are, we want to wish all the Seniors of 1955 all the happiness life can bring.
