Homecoming Homecoming Week CFeb. 15 through 207 Was, as usual, chock-full of activities of all sorts, both on and off campus. Events during the Week included, pool and Foosball tournaments, skits presented for the student body by various organ- izations, an alumni banquet featuring NBC com- mentator Herb Kaplow as guest speaker, a con- vocation at which Mr. Kaplow spoke to the stu- dent body and a conference basketball game pre- ceded by a pep rally. The high point of the eventful Week came on Friday and Saturday With a carnival and dance in the Student Center on Friday afternoon, a semi-formal dance Calso in the Student Center? Friday evening and the traditional Homecoming parade through downtown Pensacola on Satur- day morning. Foreign Students Coming from such geographically diverse places as Peru, Morocco and France, PJ C's for- eign students lend a truly cosmopolitan aura to the campus. They come primarily to obtain an education which will be useful to them when they return to their native lands. They achieve this and much more. Living, Working and playing among us for a time, these young ambassadors of international understanding and goodwill teach us much about love and brotherhood-about getting along With our fellow men. Our horizons are broadened by their presence. The Lira sisters come to PJC from Lima, Peru. Amalia fleftj plans to major in Electronics Engi- neering after graduation in 1972. Rosario Krightj will, upon graduation, go on to the University of West Florida to major in Language. Both are members of the Diplomats club. Freshmen Omar Lotfi Qleftj and Serge Lebreton frightj are both of French speaking backgrounds. Omar, a native of Casablanca, Morocco, came to the United States with the Peace Corps. He plans to major in Business-Economics at the University of West Florida. Serge, a Parisian by birth, came to Pensacola by Way of the United States Navy in which he served. Serge plans to pursue a Marine Science degree at West Florida.
