GEORGE RAPIER-A conscientious student, George is one of PJC's outstanding scholars. He is president of Phi Theta Kappa. FRED SCHREIBER-Involved in fraternity activities, Fred is the president of Delta Kappa Alpha and a member of the Inter-Greek Council. A serious student, he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Publications are also important to her. She is a member of the CORSAIR and TIDE staffs and is SGA Secretary of Events. JOE THORNTON-As a business major, Joe finds Working with Phi Beta Lambda, business fraternity, a Worthwhile endeavor. As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, scholarship is also important to him.

Whois Who Each year a limited number of PJ C students are selected to be included in the national direct- ory of outstanding junior college students, Who's Who Among Students In American Junior Col- leges. Nominations are made by faculty mem- bers, with final screening entrusted to a faculty committee. Selections are made on the basis of campus involvement, scholarship and leadership abilities. This year 11 PJ C students were accord- ed the honor. SUSAN CLIPPER--Highly involved in the PJ C nursing program, Susan spends much of her time in volunteer Work at local hospitals. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honorary scholastic society. NORMAN CUSHON-As vice president of the Student Government Association, Norman is one of the busiest students on campus. He is also a member of the Black Student Union and Mu Iota Kappa. DEBI DAVY-As a political science major, Debi finds Working with Student Government in- teresting and educational. Working on many com- mittees, she has received frequent recognition for her outstanding efforts. BRENDA GRUND--Enrolled in the college's Dental Hygiene program, Brenda finds that her studies keep her quite busy. She served as a mag- istrate on the Traffic Court during the fall term. TOM LANGFORD-As SGA parliamentar- ian, Tom presides at all senate meetings. Posses- sing a serious interest in student government and affairs, Tom is very active in all campus activities. SAM NEWMAN-Realizing a lack of com- munication on campus, Sam sought to rectify the problem by creating the SGA newsletter, WRITE- ON. A concerned student, he is a Willing Worker and initiator. MAMIE PREYER-Enrolled in the nursing program, Mamie devotes much time to volunteer Work at local hospitals. She is president of the Caduceus Society.

bf, CORSAIR Hall Of Fame During the spring term CORSAIR solicited the nomination of outstanding PJ C students as can- didates for the CORSAIR Hall of Fame. There Were no specific qualifications for nominees ex- cept that they be outstanding -- exemplary - in terms of participation and service at PJ C. Grade point averages Were important but not an over- riding factor. The CORSAIR staff selected, from among many nominees, the following five students to be included in the CORSAIR Hall of Fame for 1970-71. NORMAN CUSHON - As vice president of the Student Government Norman is one of the most involved persons on campus. Besides SGA Work, Norman is a member of the Black Student Union and the Afro-American Society. He is also a member of Mu Iota Kappa fraternity, being one of the founding brothers. He Was named to Who's Who in American Junior Colleges this year. BEVERLY PENTON - Beverly was recently accorded the honor of being selected to represent Florida in Glamour magazine's Glamour Queenn contest. She is feature editor of TIDE and copy editor for CORSAIR. She is a former member of Phi Lambda Nu, for which she served as vice NORMAN CUSHON 5QZ.?'x.fi president. She also received the honor of being de- clared Phi Lambda Nuls Best Pledgef' She is currently the mascot of Alpha Sigma Omega fra- ternity. FRED PEOPLES - Being president pro tem of the Student Government, Fred is Well versed on all campus issues. One of the original founding brothers, Fred now serves as president of Mu Iota Kappa. He is also president of the Black Student Union. ROSEMARIA SHELBY - Rose's member- ship in the Student Government occupies much of her time. She serves on several SGA committees - Events, Elections, Communication and Student- Faculty. Rose is a volunteer Worker in many com- munity endeavors. She vvas a member of the court in the Miss TIDE contest. PAM SHELDEN - Pam is the president of Delta Chi Omega and the Inter-Greek Council. Formerly an SGA senator, she has served as Home- coming chairman and secretary of events. Pam Was a member of the Homecoming court and was first runner-up in the Miss TIDE contest. She is a member of both the CORSAIR and the TIDE staffs. Pam was named to Whois Who in Ameri- can Junior Colleges this year. BEVERLY PENTON FRED PEOPLES I ' 6 . 2 i in ,
