Second Row: Ty Kenner, Dale Fleming, Ken Turner, Tim Colb , Y ' 'y?':?,, WJ' 4 Under the direction of Dr. Lou Gregory PJ C's 1970-71 Track and Cross-country Squad continued to bring distinction to PJ C with outstanding per- formances in state and regional events. The cross- country team, consisting of Rick Jacques, Steve Schoenwald, Bob Mann, Ken Eslava and Dale Fleming went undefeated in all dual meets and Won several invitationals including the Daytona Beach Cross-Country Invitational in October. The track team suffered something of a set- back after Christmas with the transfer of Rick Jacques, undisputed star of the team, to the University of Kansas. Notwithstanding this loss, the team remained very competitive in all meets, proving to be particularly strong in field events. A number of new PJ C records were set this year by members of the track team. These in- clude: David Martin, Triple Jump, 45'6 g Bob Mann, 600, 1:14.75 Bucky McDonald, Shot Put, 47 feet, Ken Carrancejie, Discus 139'6 g Dennis Paedae, Pole Vault, 1422 and Gary Gillson, Javelin, 175'9 .
