A committee drafted a constitution designed to clarify the purpose ofthe club, its by-laws, and to provide experience in writing a consti- tution. Sponsored by Mr. Lowman, the thirty-two citizens wrote letters to gov- ernment officials, memorized poems, reviewed patriotic books, and picketed unsuspecting teachers in hope of get- ting them registered to vote. These efforts were made in order to accumu- late five hundred points. Eligible mem- bers participated in a trip to Tallahas- see where they viewed the workings of the Florida state government.
