Red I-lot Varsity Basketball Team Fought With Mighty Warrior Power After a lagging start of the basketball season, Warrior Varsity pushed aside individualism and played as a team. The fourteen member team compiled a commendable five game winning streak late in the season. Coach Wubbena, the former Michi- gan high school coach, applied new innovations to Warrior strategy. Zone defense was preferred over man-to- man coverage. This change in defense was given credit for winning in many close games. lf we play a good game, we can beat them, affirmed Coach Wubbena before each game. And if we did play a good game, vve did win, added Jon Laird. Blocked shots, fast breaks, and con- sistent rebounds continually electrified the fans.
