BC YOU RELEIiBER i . . . .Or v ill you ever forget that first agonising evening at the party the seniors rave us??oor little greenhorns that we were,we climbed through strings,balanced potatos and pushed peanuts around as if our'vr very lives depended on it.Chesca was the only individual among us.She amused herself that night by throwing a knife at her door,until some choice remarks from Jane Rosenthal put a halt to the clatter. For most of us the next day consisted of strange faces,getting lost and taking notes from new teachers about things that no one could make head or tail of. .....when the horses came at the ghastly hour of 2 o'clock in the morning?The poor things must have been a little bewildered to see a great host of strange people prancing around in pajamas and other assorted night clothes. The next day there was hardly a minute when'the stable was empty. .........the vegetable classes after supper? There was one in particular that lasted a little too far into the dusk.Andy had euite us hoeing corn in the pitch dark. He certainly got a fine crop of grass on those 3 rows,didn’t he? ....the Hobo Party we had? The'signs leading us to the fire place •were choice: Rest weary feet here. Sit lightly.Hobo Haven and so on. '(here were rolls and pickles and things,all done up neatly in those ¥ed hankies.The smoke got'in our eyes,and the hamburger quickly disappeared down our throats.There was even hamburger left over,or |ould'have been if Holly hadn’t been there. Those were the days’. ....The trip to the Harrisburg show,in the chartered bus? So many‘people there,and yet you were always bumping into someone you knew. Remember how G-oty and Chesca,proud in their new-found knowledge, told a man that the chicks he was selling had Cocklorosis ? They discovered later why he had looked so puzzled.lt was Coccidlosis. And the ride back-everyone singing songs,with the front half of the bus either 3 bars ahead of those in the back,or singing an entirely different song.There was not only a medley of songs,but of arms and legs,too.£ ’-Ve finally got untangled, but some of us are still wondering why we didn't come away with someone elses leg where our own should'be. ...what about Countess,with the handsome finish on her body,the well-preserved fenders,si lent hern motor,blaring horn and smoothly working windshield wiper?As often as not you could find Tempermental Tillie ambling along behind under vigorous protest.Tillie is still in fint condition(see Hr.Andrew for full details) but it seems as if Countess has one wheel In the grave and the other three on ice. le breathe a silent prayer that she be preserved,so that other flori and ag'studnets may know her many charms ....Kay Days one and two? Last year it was Robin Hood.The hero spent his time ditching a'sword and Friar Tuck spent most his time worrying about his pillow. This year it was square dances,polkas and the maypole dance-all of which were executed admirably,though’ with much puffing and blowing.Holly looked every inch a queen,too. ....Li33 Barber's evening snacks? Never did the school bell sound so sweet as when it announced those welcome tid-bits,ice cream, popslcles’or watermelon-they were all very welcome. ....Peanut »eek? Half the school sneaked around trying to avoid the other half- ho were doing exactly the same thing.Then came the

One glance at her landscape plans will convince you that she was bora with a pen in one hand and a drawing board clutched tightly in the other. One of her much envied attributes is neatness. 'Ve strongly suspect that she gets up in the middle of the night to make her bed. All kidding aside tho', she's on our ballot as the Swingaroo Kid .

Mr. Andrew had to- rescue her,while the rest of us looked callously on,laughing and clinging weakly to our trees. .... the time,when Goty,.just an untaught Junior, carefully dug up Mrs.Bush-Brown1s prize experimental plot of Korean Lespedeza?Not a single blade was left. ....when the mares foaled and how we kept hopeful watch every night-each person hoping against hope that she would be there for the big event?What a bunch of bleary-eyed droops wex were—it looked as if every step mlgho be our last There are probably many other things you will remember too, Dr,.Patrick Dramatic Club suppers,the school bus,that wonderful feeling as you finished your very last exam and many others.This little bit of edltorlalism is a hodge-podge of thoughts set down as they come.You know what memories are like,so pardon the confusion (and the typing). I just hope that when you bring this out of your attic xx£ at some future date,to glance over,that it will help bring back afresh,what a good time we had at the old S.of H. Here s Luck- P.Scott
