it is eight olclock monday morning, the subject is anatomy. the lecturer loves his subject, relishes teaching it, and knows it as well as he knows himself. he gesticulates emphatically. his voice al- ternates between a hushed whisper and an ear- splitting roar as he strives to explain the intricacy of the visual pathway and the nuances of the extrapy- ramidal system. later he projects anatomical slides on the screen and in a manner unique to the man, the variations of the trigeminal nerve. in the labora- tory or in the lecture hall his teaching always conveys the excitement that he feels for his specialty. it is with a real sense of appreciation, therefore, that the class of 1967 dedicates its yearbook to this outstanding teacher, adviser and friend-professor onofrey g. rybachok. professor rybachok was born in the ukranian region of europe and came to the united states as a young child. he received his early education in philadelphia and though the product of extreme poverty, managed to work his way through the temple university, earning a b.s. and m.a. in biol- ogy. his work at temple was outstanding and he became a post graduate fellow at the university of pennsylvania. his interests include classical music, architecture, law, sports, and of course studying ocular anatomy. professor rybachok has received many honors from optometry including the high distinction of being elected a fellow of the american academy of optometry. we are grateful to him for his interest and for his genuine desire to teach us well. we are proud to dedicate the 1967 iris to him.
