ERE is to the hast, most loyal and dearest adviser and 1,1-aeher a vlass ever had: Miss If If Straight has heen our 4-lass adviser for three years. It was she who helped ns iight our hattles for equality: it was her staunch word of 0llCOlll'1lg4?lllK'lll that made us strive and succeed in reaching our goal. Miss Straight was a true friend 1o every lllf'lIllK'l' ol' the class of '2S. She could quiet the warmest arguments with a lookg her word was law that was sweet , to obey. Many were our l,.l i2ll5 and great was our st1'llggle to heuolne a relluted high school. As we look haul: upon the three short years spent under her guidance we are fully aware of the oh- stacfles which we overcame, led on by her helief in our ability. The Junior Prom was the first great som-ial activity at the scliool. We give crm-dll for its success to our adviser. It was she who helped ns make THE Qnim, a well organized and creditable annual. It was to Room 9 that all strayed in time of joy or sorrow. li. was to the friend and com- panion of the class of 28 that confessions were made and it was her steady hand that helped to riglit matters. The years have flown quiekly. Our high school was a short dream. X-Vo realized sim-ess and gained fame as a well organized vlass, This was due to Miss Straiglii. As we leave dear old Penn 'Hi we are grieved heeause we are losing a irue friend. We eau hub look back upon our life in high sr-hool and l'Qlll0l1llll'l' her iezlellirlgs-we know that the hand which guided ns so carefully then, will help make our silevesses in the hig world. And 'then in the sheen of the tlrelight we are thrilled by a magic spell And the eoals are ehanged into pictures of faces that seem to tell They have l'nnnd real work to please them, triumph, endeavor unfazed, They have learned that all work is worth doing and brings its own inead of praise All are there, the gay and the grave, unbroken the ranks of the class, Older grown, to be sure, and wiser but still the same boy and the same lass Who onee tormented the teachers-good sports though, nevertheless, Who at basket-ball won and at soeeor, for their dear old P. And here in this eharmed group-picture comes another faee into view, And eaeh one with love turns towards her, as friend turns to friend anew, And each in the warmth ol' her greeting and eaeh in his well earned joys, Shall see her iaith as she saw it, in the good of her girls and boys. Much to our joy we escaped the horrors of initiation. After ' i M this escape, the elass of freshmen hegan to feel just a little hit more important and begun to work on an almost equal basis with the soplunnores. liarly in the year the class inet and elected the following ollieers: President, YVillard GFlll'l0l'1 Viee-President, Robert. Nlanng Secretary, Gertrude Woodyard: Treasurer, Frances Botsfordg tlass 1-Iistorian, Albert Cage. A sliorf. time after the beginning: of school. the sophomores began to warm their hearts toward the forlorn l reshie and made us feel as though we were a part of the school when they gave us u weiner roast on Sl'llll'lIlll0l' the lflth. The freshmen won recognition on Tuesday, October 4th. when they over-whelmiugly cle-- feated the soplionumres in the football game to the tune of lil-0. This was a hard fought bat- tle and very exciting. An entliusiastie group of rooters cheered the players throughout the ganie. 'I'he soeial season of the year was opened when the freshmen gave a llallowe'en danee in honor of the sophmnores. It was a wonderful success and will have a permanent place in the minds and hearts of all who were present. ' 'l'he freslnnen were very inueh relieved, when they no longer had to endure the horrible naine of lial.s. for after niidAyear examinations in rushed another large group of people who ininiediutely filed into the unoeeupied section where every one goes under the title of 'Ra,l,s. ln 1925, our school won fourth plaee in the Track Meet. and many of the points were scored hy ll1l?lllll0l'H of the Freshman Class. Hnnnner passed and we came back to school from our vacation, qualified to he dignified fanplunnoreu. All were very anxious to welemnne the new class of shy freshmen. At the first meeting of the Soplunnore l'lass the following oflieers were elected: President, Robert Munn: Vice-l7resident. Albert Cage: Secretary, Eloise Bridgesg Treasurer, Genevieve Poling. 'I'he class decided to pni forth the best efforts possible to make the class the best. The main social event of the year was a llallowe'en Party which proved a great success. The rnonths passed by quickly and then 4-nine inid-year examinations, leaving a seething brand upon some and waving xi. magic wzuul over others. Then came the track events i11 which several ineinhers of the class distinguished themselves. As we entered P. A. H. S. for the third time. we realized just what it meant. XVe plunged immediately into the usual whirl of activities and studies. Our first momentous problem was that of eluiosing our class ring. After heing practically sulnnerged with sam- ples, the class finally seleefed one which made the whole school envious. Once more for anoiliei' year the social functions were begun. The opening event for the Juniors was a Kiddie Party. Arrayed in children's garb they were not the advanced class of Jiniiors, but once again hem-nine little tots full of fun and gayety. This was a great big' Hllf!C'l'Hr4n and will be long remembered. Spring brought with it the nieritable production of the musical coniedy 'tI'i4-files. 'l'he erowuing' event of the year was the Junior-Senior Prcnn given the latter part of the :-ieniester. Nothing' has ever surpassed it in the history of P. A. H. S. We were very proud that we had given the seniors a dance which they would never forget. ,Hut after all the fun ealne the inevitable exams. AM: last, we are about to attain our goal. Thus, the Junior Class has finished the third lap of its race. One uiore year then-meuiories. 4 3 I Y 7777777 I I if I I I' I I I.
