EXCHANGE STUDENT Although short, this year was the most exciting and impressive year that I have had in my life. When I went to school on the first day, I did not know what to do and I could not understand what anyone was talking about. It was so different from our Japanese high school and the Japanese language. I had to move from one class to another within four minutes with many heavy books and a big notebook. Sometimes I dropped them down on the floor. When I got used to them, it was June, when I had to leave school. l have many memories, both happy and sad-lunch with the guys, football games, pep rallies, homework . . . everything. But now, even sad memories become happy ones. I feel sorry that I did not show you much about Japan. I was so busy learning about your country. It is such a big, great, energetic country. Every time I thought of you Americans, I regretted what a narrow- minded person I was. I found we had to be good friends with everyone in the world. I can tell every person in Japan these things with confidence. Lastly, I would like to say Thank you to everyone of you, especially Dave, Mr. and Mrs. Getsinger, and the American Field Service, who gave me such a won- derful chance to live in the United States of America. I can never forget this indescribable year. I hope we will meet again. Sayonara. Skigir-o Lbw-22. one hundred
