1958 CLASS HISTORY Mythology relates certaln facts concerning the Greek and Roman theaters All plays fn these theaters were presented ID the day and ln most cases all clttzens attended srnce there was no charge for admrssron As to constructlon theaters In thas day were almost always bullt of stone Our school In some ways resembles an ancxent theater benng bullt of derrvatnve of stone and attended mostly In the day by a maloruty of young cntnzens As a theater our school sets the stage for four acts benng presented at all tnmes Suppose we attend a play rn thus theater the tntle belng Class of T958 A I The tame ns September T954 and as the curtaln rnses we are confronted wuth a group of about SOO persons The first scene shows approximately one hundred eughty bewildered freshmen wanderung through the halls of Penns Grove l-lngh consultrng schedule cards and room numbers The dlsorganlzed appearance soon drsappears and we fund thus same group under the dlrectron of Mr Thompson electung the followung offucers to carry them through the ftrst act Prestdent Fred Renner Vrce Presndent Martlyn Knlburn Secretary Carol Jones Treasurer Ronnte Overstreet Just before the curtam us drawn the actors are seen sponsorrng but wrser havung completed a years actrvutres ln thus Theater Ac ll Curtann txme ns September T955 and lo and behold' We fund most of the same actors looklng a but sad as they bad the carefree summer days good bye As director of this act Mrs Allen ands the Sophomore class nn nomunatxng and electlng class offzcers for the comung ten months Those brave souls who tackled posltlons Include Presldent Carol Jones Vice Presldent Laura Ann Stretch Secre tary Kathleen Charlton Treasurer Bonnue Rose ln the next scene the members of thus class are presentlng a Fashxon Show whuch htghllghts thenr years BCTIVITIGS The last scene of thus act reveals a long lnne of students outsude the guudance offnce and If we look closely we may see theur last Sophomore actnvlty the actors are orderlng class rlngs whnch wnll slgnlfy theur superrorrty to the Freshmen and Sophomores an the last two acts , , I ' I I I - , . , r , .
