SENl0R CLASS HISTORY Talk about mixed feelings! As freshmen, we certainly experienced plenty of those as we walked through Regional High School's portals for the first time. Thoughts of plays, proms, and sports activities filled our minds, but as all new students do, we felt strange, frightened, and a little inferior. Our misgivings were soon forgotten when we were greeted by a Welcome Freshmen Dance. Electing class officers was our first duty as members of Re-Hi. ln this we were guided by Miss Mary Dough- erty, our class sponsor. President Barbara Smith was assisted by Vice President, Myra Brubaker, Secretary, Elsie Coleman, and Treasurer, Robert Downs. As sophomores, having gotten over the experience of being green freshmen ourselves, we enjoyed immensely the privilege of looking down on the newest arrivals. This pleasure didn't last long because we soon had to get down to business and elect our class officers with the aid of Mrs. Mary Saletra. Barbara Suter tackled the job of president while Marie Rose, Gilda Mattioli, and Nick Pietro did fine iobs as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, respectively. Besides the electing of leaders we had the added responsibility of presenting the sophomore fashion show, which completed our year's activities. We had finally reached the half-way point on our trip to the caps and gowns. Miss Marian Heaps was our sponsor, and President, William Coleman, Vice President, Stella Plerhoples, Secretary, Julia De Frank, and Treasurer, Fred Wierman, were elected to lead us during our first year as upperclassmen. After the election our thought turned to less serious matters such as the arrival of our long-awaited class rings and the Junior Prom, Harbor Lights. Whew!!! We had finally made it. We were mighty seniors at last. Our election of class officers that year required a great deal of thought because it was probably the most important of all four years. After much campaigning, George Hutchinson won the Presidency. Mary Jane Ellis was elected Vice President, Marie Rose, Secretary, and Nick Pietro, Treasurer. The senior year is always filled with a lot of activity and ours was no exception. Christmas was celebrated a week early by the holding of the annual Senior Dance, and we were kept busy through the rest of the winter preparing for the March Class Trip to Washington, an experience we'll remember for a long, long time. Graduation came at last, and with it all the little things, such as the exchanging of pictures and name cards and the signing of Retrospects, which are so much a part of it. In all activities we were grateful for the guidance of Mrs. Virginia Davidson. Then it was all over. We bade each other good-bye, hoping we would meet again. We knew that some would be fortunate, with others, things would be difficult, but we all wished each other the best of luck.
