Hi Mom and Dad: How are you? That's good. I'm safe and still alive but need much sleep. I'm nowsetting fsicl on the 449th step of the Washington Monument and have only 448 more steps to go. The lazy clods took the elevator, but I feel ambiguous! Two hours after kissing the Juniors good-bye, we arrived at New Castle for breakfast--cheeseburger, ice cream sandwich, and Tasty-Kake. Upon arrival in Washington, we were subjected to a three day endurance test, testing whether that group of Pennridge students, or any group of students so rushed and harassed, can long endure. Of course we accomplished very much in three days: we checked in at a monasteryg saw money being printed fstingy capitalist governmentlg ateg visited Washington Cathedralg changed the guard at Arlingtong invaded and collapsed at the Dodge Hotelg ateg slept and ate while Ben-Hur won the chariot raceg played cards until 2:30 a.m. flost only S2.64Jg awakened at6 a.m. the next morning by the ever-alert telephone operatorg ate a sumptuous breakfast in the spacious dining room of the Dodge Hotelg helped the Supreme Court to make some decisionsg introduced a money bill in the House four Congressman sure is good-lookingjg caddied at the White House for Ikeg toured the...uh--oh, I'm late for the bus...have to jump down 449 steps. S 'long-- Your Sleepy Offspring 80 Give me two chocolate covered grasshoppers. Everybody out of the pool! Peaceful . . . isn't it?
