n 1 t right one .YTAJWP CLUB 'lllf ll The Iennrldge Stlmp Club IS under the direction of Mr Helman St tmp col lectlng IS a very fascinating hobby In the Stamp Club Mr Helman explains the different stamps to the members The club subscribes to S ld-XMPS, a m ig xzine, and to LININS STAMP VS lLI1lxLY a newspaper, from which they get idditlon al information about stamps In return for the dues which a member pays, he FCCCIVCS twenty hve stamps weekly He can trade these stamps with other mem bers, or, he may keep them and add them to his collectlon Stamp collecting can be prohtable and beneficial to the student, as well as interesting BRIDGE CLUB One of the newest clubs at Pennrldge is the Bridge Club I1l'llS Club IS so popular that there are two groups One group meets on luesday and the other group meets on Thursday 'I he club is sponsored by Miss Stephens and 19 mainly set up for students who have no knowledge of bridge. The members are taught the fun- damentals of' the gameg and after they have mastered the fundamentals, they begin to play games with other members of the club. Beauty and the Beast Flrst you read from books then you rxde The new venture ln clubs thls year was the Boys Cookmg Club It was or gan17ed for the purpose Of.g1VlI1g the boys experlences ln the cuhnary arts 'I he club met fW1CC a week for the first semester Most of the tlme the boys spent learn mg the art of cookmg but they also learned the proper way to set a table and how to cook and serve nutrrtlous foods Under the guidance of Mxss Chalfont they planned early 1n the semester what they would make On the whole they proved to be good cooks for they turned out excellent cakes ples, and cookles The Rldxng Club has a membership of from 30 to 40 students MISS Glnder IS 1n charge of thls club Every Wednesday and Thursday after school the club goes rldlng at the Haycock Stables Here they are taught to plck a good horse and taught the proper way of rldlng The club has had several act1v1t1es fhlS year T hey have gone on moonhght rldes and hay rldes They have made plans to have a tra1l rlde whlch would be taken over a weekend The number of students part1c1 patlng and the number of actxvltles IH whlch the club has been engaged IS proof of thls new club s success Don t they look lush?
