FUTURE TEACHERS 0 AJWERI CA The Future Teachers of America is a nationwide organization. VVe are priv- ileged to have a branch of that club in Pennridge under the sponsorship of' Mrs. Confer. The Future Teachers of America carry on many activities which serve to introduce students to the teaching pro- fession. F. T. A. members gain first hand ex- perience through frequent substitute teaching in the grade school. The club sees movies and has elementary teachers lecture on current teaching methods. This year F. T. A. members attended the District Convention of the F. T. A., the Southeastern District Convention, and sent two representatives to the state F. T. A. Convention. T RI-HL Y The Tri-lli-Y is under the direction of' Miss Paine and is sponsored by the State Y. M. C. A. There are two groups, a Senior Tri-Hi-Y composed of Seniors, juniors, and Sophomores, and a -Iunior Tri-Hi-Y consisting only Ul.T'lI'CSlll112lIl. These organizations are for girls who wish to maintain a good spiritual back- ground and who like to discuss such topics as personality traits, dating, and other social problems. The girls have had films and panel discussions on various topics. The group gave a dance on February 22, and later in the year played hostess to the members of' the South liastern District Conference of' the Tri-Hi-Y and Hi-Y held at Pennridge.

TYPI G CLUB The typing club is so popular that two groups have been formed. They meet every Tuesday and Thursday with their advisers, Mr. Hales and Mrs. Nichols.
