SECRETARY Mrs. Sumner Small There are always a few in every school system that contribute much to the efficiency of that school and are taken for granted by the students. The office sec- retary, Mrs. Sumner Small, keeps the all important school records, while Mr. Truman Prince, our ever present janitor, keeps our school in spotless condition. The bus drivers, Mr. John Doughty, Mr. Fredrick Adler, Mr. Maynard Barker, Mr. Cleveland Ward, and Mr. Ernest Ward see that we get to and from school safely. They also volunteer their services to take the spectators and players to the basketball games. MR, HARRY C, BROWN: PRINCIPAL TO THE STUDENTS OF PENNELL INSTITUTE High “¿1001 days should be happy days. It is the time in life when students must not only study their lessons in the text books but also must realize that there is much more to going to high school. Here you must learn to get along with others. You must learn to compete with your fellow pupils in many ways; namely, in ranks, in athletics, in popularity, and so on. It is a time when you are develop- ing into the sort of individual which you are likely to be out in the world when your high school days are over. Most all of us by the time we are 18 years of age have formed habits by which we will live during our life time. The more habits of the right type we have, the better they will serve us during our life. I am thinking especially of such things as honesty, self reliance, habits of good speech, dress, personality, disposition, politeness, and the like. Webster defines habit as The ability or inclination to do something easily and unhesitatingly, acquired by constant repetition of an act or way of behaving. Harry C. Brown
