4 i Foreword As we, the Class of 1959, launch this momentous project, we realize that this is a book of memories written by and for the students of Pennell Institute, This, then, is your book with your accomplishments, activities, and pleasant recollections, To this end, we have decided that the theme Should be, Cars , Cars are becoming an increasingly important phase of student life at Pennell, They are used for the conveyance of the many athletic teams and their fans from point A to point B, Cars are used for transportation to and from school, As a whole, the faculty and student body are making cars more and more a part of school life, This is advantageous, for it shows in driving, the student is accepting more adult responsibility than has been the case, The school is comparable to a car with our principal at the wheel, The driving force, or the engine, is composed of the faculty sending us to higher things, The chassis is as the student body that has been designed and molded by their parents and teachers, The wheels are the j3l'liI01'S cooks, and friends, all necessary to keep the school running smoothly, On the basis of the aforesaid, we build our, WHIRLPOOL 1958 .
