Of all the whacky plots ever conjured up in the fertile mind of a dramatist, this is our choice for top honors. Maybe the term screwy would better describe it. The set is that of a lounge room in a college assembly building. The topic of the hour is the new Dean, Charles Bradley Brown, whose arrival is momentarily expected. In pops a new student with the coincidental name Dean Brown. He's a plain, unvarnished American boy, simply unmindful of his many educational shortcomings, yet frank and breezy as youth can be. His name electrifies the group of students and then the fun market begins doing business. Dean is assigned one of the girls as his secretary. The Registrar persists in giving Dean an advance on his salary. Poor guy, he's thrown overboard in a maelstrom of riotous happenings that would be chaotically bewildering were it not that they are so cleverly knit together into a perfect story for high school players. When the real Dean comes along, he's mistakenly thought to be an escaped lunatic. Here's where the audience will laugh itself silly. Every character denotes youth, every part is custom-built for laughs, and romance abounds in its most elementary stages. It's the laugh sensation of the year.
