Student Services and Salvation Penn Slate daily life is more than jusi eat. drink and study. Students find themselves trekking from Walker Building to White Building in search of an office, a signature, or a shot of penicillin, all pro- vided by a variety of student services. When legs give out after the hike from Past Halls to West, the Campus Loop comes to the rescue. It runs through rain, sleet, snow and hail for longer hours than any mailman. The Loop delivers its passengers to any section of campus for only a dime per trip-probably the best deal in town. On those long nights of cramming before finals, there is Pattec Library and its branches in Pollock. Nittany. Centre and South Halls. One of Pal tec's unforgettable features is the stacks the only place in the world where books know how to play hide and seek. The Het el Union Building or HUB- is a good place to check out your computer date or scarf up a Daily Collegian. The HUB is the main student union building on campus, housing many student organizations, study rooms, information desks and game rooms. Ritenour Health Center offers a dispensary, phar- macy. hospital and ambulance services, along with a staff of doctors and nurses, for any student in need. However. Ritenour often means a long wait and a lousy selection of magazines! Students don’t walk to Shields Building they trudge there, grumbling the whole way about the awful location. Shields is a place to wait in line for thirty minutes only to find that transcripts are given out at the next window where the line is twice as long. From Loop to library, these and other student services are an integral part of life at Penn State.
