Margaret Organ, a senior and Council president, has won 15 trophies on her own in both debate and individual speaking events. Other outstanding senior council members are Cindy Garren and Mark Harmon, who have won about 10 each. All have competed in national competition. Under the supervision of co-coaches Nancy Dunbar and Mark Shaw, the Council has about 30 active members. The Council works with the Speech Department of the University to coordinate its intercollegiate competitions and its intramural debate activities. Membership, however, is not limited to speech communications majors.

Froth is Penn State’s only English-speaking humor organization. Froth magazine, pub- lished as often as possible. is one of the oldest and least known humor magazines in the coun- try. One of the most popular works recently put out by the Froth staff was last spring’s The Daily Collusion, a witty parody of Penn State's other major publication. One can spot a Froth staffer climbing the campus mall on his belly or playing softball (versus the campus police) dressed as Santa Claus. Froth staffers pride themselves on the fact that they are the only organization on campus that actually tries to be funny. Future plans include the takeover of the campus govern- ment, and the formation of a glee club. JcfT Altcnhof. Micki Amick. Joe Andrukilas. Ron BoIsko, Cliff Bassvay. Dave Blazek. Jeff Brandlcr.
