personnel. The College also holds membership in the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Educa- tion. The primary function of the College of Engineering, headed by Dean Nunzio |. Palladino, is the education and training of students in regards to technical com- petency for the design, development, testing and pro- duction of devices and products for the use of the public, and the capability for the application of engi- neering principles to solve such problems. Dean Robert J. Scannell is the top administrator of the College of Health, Physical Education, and Recrea- tion which provides instruction for men and women students in sports and health-related areas. Dean Donald H. Ford heads the College of Human Development. This College is the University's response to the most pressing problems of our time - human problems. It is a professional college designed to pre- pare students for the expanding field of human serv- ices, by developing ways of resolving and preventing problems in such areas as child development, youth. aging, family, and community. The college of the Liberal Arts, under the supervision of Dean Stanley F. Paulson, provides specialized train- ing in the basic disciplines of the humanities and the social and behavioral sciences. In addition to majors in history, English, and political science, the College also offers courses in Chinese, and Slavic languages. The College of Science, headed by Dean Thomas VVartik, offers instruction necessary for the under- standing of mathematics and physical and biological sciences. Graduates of this college may enter occupa- tions in industry or in government which require a competence in science and mathematics, such as man- ufacturing or environmental control. Dean Stuart Forth heads the College of Library' Sci- ences. Students of this College study the use of the card catalog, periodical indexes, and bibliographies. I hey are also introduced to the principles and prac- tices of book selection and school library methods and administration which includes practical experience in an approved public or school library'.
