Our four years at Penn State have been full and rewarding ones. Beginning as freshmen we went through the trials of registration, the fun of meeting new friends, and the pressures of classes and studying. By the time we were sophomores we knew we belonged — we had each found our niche in the vast community that is Penn State, whether in Greek life, ath- letics, scholarship, or any of the dozens of organizations and activities that abound. Junior year brought a settling down to serious work in our majors and in- volvement through the Water Tunnel, or the red-armband movement, or the crowd outside Old Main when it was occupied. And there were fun things too — middle of the night bull sessions ... the insanity of welcoming the victorious football team home from U.C.L.A. in the middle of the night. . . hitching a ride to Whipples on a warm Spring afternoon. So now we’re Seniors. Coupled with the whirlwind of activity are those omni- present pressures of 400-level courses, employment interviews, graduate school applications, the draft, and on and on. Sometimes we are happy to relax and forget it all at the Phyrst . . . sometimes we are too busy to think, much less reflect. Graduation is a time for reminiscing. The La Vie staff has tried to capture within these pages the bittersweet memories with which we leave — reflections of four years at Penn State.
