Raymond 0. Murphy Dean of Student Affairs Prior to the opening of this academic year, the former offices of the Dean of Women and Dean of Men were combined to become the Ohicc of Student Affairs. Under the Vice President for Student Affairs there are the Otticcs of the Dean of Student Affairs for Uni- versity Park and for the Commonwealth Campuses. There are four major divisions within the new organization: Divi- sion of Resident Hall Programs, Division of Student Standards, Division of New Student Programs and Division of Greek Life. The purpose of this reorganization is to more adequately serve the needs of the student population. The central focus is to facilitate the edu- cational development of the student. Ridge Riley Executive Secretary Founded in 1870. the Alumni Association is the oldest uutnno- Penn State Alumni Amocimiun mous organization formally related to the University. Its active membership is approximately 26000. but it maintains the records and addresses of nearly 115.000 graduates. The broad objective of the Association is to involvc former students in the affairs of the University and to establish a partnership bctwccn alumni. students, and the University in the pursuit of academic excellence. In order to kccp its members adequately informed, the Associa- tion has thrcc regular publications. the Alumni News, a magazine published xcvcn times yearly. the Penn State Report, a quarterly newsletter. and the Football Letter, distributed weekly during the football season. The Association was instrumental in starting the Alumni Fund in 1953 which has raised more than $5,000.00t'1 in gifts to the Univer- sity. To maintain contacts with alumni. the Association administers a District Club program in most Pennsylvania counties and in the major cities throughout the United States. Every Homecoming thousands of Alumni return to visit their Alma Mater. Alumni Association
