A 1911 graduate, Judge Milholland served two terms as President of the Penn State Alumni Association and more than 25 years as a Trustee. He was President of the Board of Trustees for more than a decade. Following the death of the late Dr. Ralph Dorn 1-letzel in 1947, judge Milholland was named Acting President of the University and he served in that capacity for nearly three years, until the appointment of President Milton S. Eisenhower. A former fudge of the Orphans Court of Allegheny County and a practicing attorney in Allegheny County since 1914, Judge lVlil- holland was designated early this year as a Distinguished Alumnus of the University. The honor would have been conferred in june. In the passing of ludge Milholland on February 14, 1956, Penn State lost a loyal alumnus, a loved trustee, and an outstanding leader who served his Alma Mater faithfully for nearly half a century. E!
