Rides in the bus to dinner, figuring out grades for mid-term, Talking in Vender- ville, all comprised the mirage of every- day routine things. Couples began to an- nounce engagements plans. Everyone started to seem so close to being ejected into that great, wide world beyond. The first term saw the forming of many new clubs, and the election of some Sen- ators. The Student Government president, Tom Lopresti, resigned after a newspaper interview which told of his displeasures with the Senate. John Lybarger became the new president. Now, the government was ready to work as a cohesive organi- zation again.

FALL: THE BEGINNING Registration: Card 9952, please? What? You forgot your ID card? Yellow, Red, Green, Orange. The earth is on display now, showing all the jewels she owns. New people. Feeling it all out. Who to talk to? .A friend. An old roommate. Soon there will be seniors to meet too . . . The campus. The discovery of large, open fields, tele- phone poles by the scores, the huge classroom build- ing, Venderville and the pool tables, the Student Cen- ter with decent food. Autumn T968 began for the new iuniors with a week of activities, scheduling and meetings. They antici- pated, finally, the seniors to arrive, while the seniors, packing suitcases and loading cars, began thinking of the year ahead. The last year. The final year of a long, hard road. Term IO. Ready to begin . . . TOWARDS AN END
