Each grew to some understanding of the other. lt was a marvelous opportunity for all those who took part in the adventure. The Artist-Lecture Series sponsored a 'few outstanding guest appearances. Dr. R. Meyers lectured on the Romance ot Words describ- ing various incidents ot. humorous word us- age. Mr. Stan Shepard, a West Indian tolk singer illustrated the development of the folk music forms from their original African roots through the West Indian melodies we krtovv in our popular versions today, A clas- sical music concert was presented by Peter Segal, guitarist, and Deborah Cook, soprano, featuring such favorites as Die Warnung and Las Margaritas. Some of the more sports-minded couples con- tinued with the festivities of the weekend by hop- ping into their cars on Saturday and driving to University Park and their AlI 'U' Weekend, for the big Miami-State football game. Most of the couples remained at Park after the game for a jammy, and later a concert. For all, it was an ex- citing, but exhausting weekend.
