PIQCJLCDGUE gf- Before presenting the successes of the actors, it is necessary to give to you, our audience, the past evenls which precede the action of this drama. August 25, 1930-A memorable day when 48 frightened Freshies signed up at Manor High for the First-Act. Stage-struck and bewildered, they Went through the try-outs, forgetting lines, entering at the Wrong time and using the Wrong exits. After playing minor roles in the Gym carnival and the assembly programs, a few of the stage tricks Were mas- tered, so the Freshmen celebrated trials and triumphs with a picnic in Hopkins Woods. August, 1931-and more recruits from the Training School. These were soon intiated and thoroughly prompted in their parts for Student Council, Athletics, Glee Club, and May Day. For off-stage relaxation, they had another grand picnic at Rocky Springs. August, 1932-When the season opened, the Seniors entertained us at a HalloWe'en Party. As one class in its time plays many parts, we did our bit in supplying actors for the Varsity Basketball Team, the Operetta, In Old Louisiana, our class play, Jonesy, which was received with great applause from the audience, and Play Day. Tragedy came upon the scene When Harrison Irvin, the actor who was playing the role as class president, died. Our class entertained the Seniors at a garden party in the Gym. With the annual class picnic at Rocky Springs We finished rehearsing for our major roles as Seniors, and as the Shakespearean character has it, our play may be tragedy, comedy, history, or pastoral. You, our audience may classify it. lllfl

A J.. rt' I K K K If ,. ANNA M. AFFLEBACH Operetla, 3, 4, Clubsi Commercial, 3, 4, Drama, 4. Anna's pleasant' smile has probably been provoked by the thought of a recent chat with her confidante, Commercial homework certainly must be difficult. lt takes all her noon hours, the team work of two, and a double seat as the proper working environment. J. PAUL AFFLEBACH Basketball: Junior Varsity, 3, Varsity, 3, 4, Baseball, 3, 4, Senior Play, Official Board, 4, Clubs: Dramatic, 4, Leaders, 4 l-lail' The Seniors' little Ceasarl l-le put his opponent on the spot in sports. l-le took the audience for a ride in every play in which he acted He won for himself a thousand grand in popularity. We know Paulie's racket will stand him in good stead alter he leaves Manor, ROGER S. ANDERSON Clubs: Photography, 4, Radio, l, 2. Hunk is a man of few words, consequently his history re- mains obscure. l-le is interested in science, but is undecided about his future Yet, if he shows as much determination in scientific pursuits as he does in becoming a basketball star, success is inevitable. CLYDE D. BARLEY Orchestra, l, 2, 3, -l, First Aid Club, l, 2. Barley's work does not cause any great deal of interference with his pleasure. l-lis ambition is to become an electrical engineer. Clyde is often stricken with moods, which lead us to suspect that he is the possessor of a secret. Maybe that C. l-l. S. ring is only a speed trophy he won with his new Dodge. C. ARTHUR BRENNEMAN Basketball' Jun or Varsity, 2, Varsity, 3, 4, Volley Ball, 3, Official Board, 3, 4, Class Treasurer, l, Class President, 2, Student Council, l, 3, Operetta, 4, Junior Play, Clubs: Leaders, 4. Our Varsity Center's best friend is his Austin. When the spirit moves hirn, he wraps his elongated body like a pretzel and goes places. Art wants to tear things apart and put them together -with the practice he gets on his abbreviated Greyhound, we know he will succeed. JOHN E. CAMPBELL Clubs: Archery. Dapper Johnny from Conestoga Center, considers Shakes- peare's line- sleep that knits up the ravell'd sleave of care a literary gem. l-le also indulges in daily conversations with Dutch and weekly excursions to Smithville. We are of the opinion that John will add to these three jewels, the fourth-- Success. E121
