DONALD CAMPANELLA-President On September 5, 1963, as sophomores we entered Penn Hills Senior High School somewhat apprehensive of what lay in store for us. We soon settled down to the serious business of electing those classmates that were to lead us through our first year. Trusting our better judgement we chose Paul Allen as Sophomore Class President, Ross Polizzano as vice presi- dent, Lynn Laslavic as secretary, and Barbara Caldarelli as treasurer. Mr. Bruce Murphy, director our first One Act drama, THE DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER, selected a fine array of talent from our class. At the Coronation Ball on November 8, 1963, our votes crowned Trudy Ricci and Ross Polizzano as Sophomore Queen and King. Barbara Byers, Joanne Chasey, Bill Bergamasco, and Tom Foster completed the court. With the able assistance of our class sponsors, Mrs. Sarah McAfoose and Mr. John Love, we planned our first project, the Sophomore Class Dance, THE KRANBERRY KRASH. Our well laid plans came to an abrupt halt by the tragic and untimely death of the late President John F. Kennedy. The dance was rescheduled for January 17, renamed JANUARY JUBILEE and was again cancelled, this time because of a snow storm. The old saying the third time is a charmn fit appropriately in our case. The dance was scheduled for final time on May 1, the MAY BEE proved a great success. Our class play, GEORGE WASHINGTON SLEPT HERE, was held on February 28, 1964, and was directed by Mr. Bruce Murphy. The Sopho- more, Junior, and Senior classes combined to present the musical production, MY FAIR LADY, which proved to be a smashing success. Before we realized it, September was upon us again, and so we began our Junior year. Under the able guidance of our class officers, Rose Marie Howe-president, Kathy Gunnell -vice president, Joanne Chasey-secretary, Linda Khouri -treasurer and Trudy Ricci-historian, and our fine class sponsors, Mrs. Marion Decker and Mr. James Fields, we enjoyed a most successful year. At the Coronation Ball in SENIGR CLASS OFFICERS November, Joan Zimmerman and Rick Zomnir reigned as Junior class monarchs. The court was composed of Beverly Best, Louise Cupelli, Paul Allen, and Al Echko. Our Junior Class dramatic presentations, OVERTONES, a One Act, and LIFE WITH FATHER, the class play, were capably directed by Mr. Charles Marshall. Then came our Christmas dance, THE ALPINE GLIDE, which was well attended by the Junior Class. The Junior Class thespians, along with those of the Sophomore and Senior classes, did their usual fine job in presenting the school musical, MUSIC MAN. September 1965, was the most outstanding of all Septem- bers, the beginning of our final year in high school. This year would be filled with mixed emotions-joy at being Seniors and sorrow at the thought that one day soon we would have to part. The Senior class officers, Don Campanella-presi- dent, Glenn Cannon-vice president, Joan Zimmerman- secretary and Joanne Chasey-treasurer with the counseling of Mrs. Helen Saunders and Mr. Raymond DeVito directed the most successful magazine campaign in the history of our school. The grand total of the magazine sale rocketed over 338,400 We presented our One Act play, SORRY, WRONG NUMBER, directed by Mrs. Wise. The Senior Class Play, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, was staged on November 19, 1965. Directed by Mrs. Mildred Dunham, this play was one of our best. Crowned as Senior Queen and King at the Coronation Ball were Barbara Cal- darelli and Tony Tierno. Michele Fleming, Ann Marie Gionta, Don Campanella, and Bill Foltz composed the Court. Reviewing our past accomplishments, we would have to conclude that 'fsuccess and pride mix'd,, truly symbolize the Class of ,667 Soon these happy days will end, never to be forgotten.
