Sloan BOARD OF EDUCATION Our township school board is com- posed of citizens working diligently to improve our school system. They have gone through many trials and tribula- tions, coping with the ever-present problem of increasing population in the township. They have been a part of our life since first grade, deciding the school policies. Under these policies they pro- vide for guidance and counseling, and learning related to civic, economic, and family duties in later life. They pro- mote the erection of new school build- ings-most recent of which is the new high school. Also they select teachers with great care, grant contracts for school supplies and equipment, select the writing system, supervise the junior high core system, and choose the new- est and best textbooks for our use. We attributed the success- ful program of our township's schools to his untiring efforts. He displayed sound judgment, sincerity, integrity, and loyalty to the highest professional ideals. He has his M.A., and Dr. Ed., degrees from the University of Pitts- burgh. Let us introduce you to our assistant superintendent, Mr. Hoelzle. His serv- ice to children, youth, and teachers cannot be measured. His suggestions or ideas given here or there were carried out by others. He served you with dig- ity and courage.
