Cherish Democracy This year, We, the senior c-lass of '43, unlike others, dedi- cate our issue of Seneca to a group of people insteadgof just one - to the teachers and fellow students of Penn High School who have answered their eountryls eall to arms. These nien ffor they are all men nowj of the Army, Xavy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and the Merelmnt Marine are not forgotten, they are present, alive and vivid in our nieniories and hearts. lVe are bound to theni by more than material things -- those intangible ones of faith, youthful memories, and our high school days to- gether. The boy who sat beside us in chemistry class or the teaeher whose advice and understanding were so Very important to us, may be in North Africa, Guadalcanal, or the Solomons giving his life for us. He's fighting so that others can share the education we have been so fortunate to attain. To these nlen, who are giving so rnueh, we proudly dedicate this book, in the hope that it will make us more conscious of what they are fighting for. 'k ir 'A' 'k 'k ir ir ir ul' 'Ir if
