SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the year ninteen hundred and thirty five a class of determined and self confldent boys and girls re ceived w1th dignity their grade diplomas and entered upon their duties as Freshmen It cannot be denied that thls group of twenty nlne students did have am bition and a desire for education for if they had not had, more would have dropped by the wayside on their four years' Journey thrpugh high school, Wb've galloped over the sand dunes such as Latin, Algebra English, etc , on our trusty camels. It was rather hard golng in some pl ces but only Gene Wogan and George G1fford failed to pull through the Freshman lap At the f1TSu oasis Eddie Johnson found it nec essary to transfer to another caravan But 1n turn we plcked up here, a former traveling mate Ol ours in the person of Howald Davis With this group of twenty eight we started upon another journey a more rough and more advanced trip During thls march w found it necessary to perform certain duties, whlch 1f omltted would have caused our caravan to lose the dlStlDCt1On that was so vivldly displayed at our destinataon the city of Commencement We started upon the thlrd lap of our parade to tte country of Educatlon wlth two more henchmen, Freda Coler and Clarence Poling, leav ing us at Oasis No Two It was here also that Com rades Philip Love and Mary Plerpolnt had to take an other traln Nevertheless, we had nothlng to lose ln that we drew four more laywen to our outfit These were as follows Vivlan Gifford, Maxine Kirkbride, Hulda Hilaman, and Edlth caln We progressed much further upon the next excurslon Cur colors sparkled with pralse because of our excellent showlng in sports, entertalnment, and scholarsnlp. Upon th1s journey we showed our respect to the dlgn fled members of the caravan advanclng before us We have now tak n their places upon the route and have engaged ln eel sodes which w1ll not easlly be cast into obllv on Upon finishing thls Journey No Four we have prepared to meet our contemporaries in all flelds wlth equal zeal and COmbat1VGnSSS. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY In 1939 a class was graduated from Penn High School That was twenty years ago, at that time they habitated the obscurity and were never g1ven credit for their knowledge. The world has bid its fare in shame as this class 13 now the maln stay of the nation, The wide open spaces and the tumult of the city have call ed to them and they have profited in the various spots beyond comprehension. Currently speaking Rev. Davld Hickerson and Dr Willard Van Fossen have consulted the renowned Betty Pierpoint, sculptor to chlsel a monument in honor of this chats For durability, cold storage butter has been decided upon. The dedlcatlon is being greatly anticipated for the program will be exceptionally good Hon George Abel will orate on, nViccissitudes of the Vircle. Dwi t Hanlin will talk on, UTrials of a Bariton Singer. From Grand Operas, Madamoiselle o s Dougan will render, nL1nger Longer Love. Bill Bachelor and Harry Glfford have founded an institution for the Homeless and Heartbroken. The English classes of this institution are ln charge of Professor Charles Hooper. Professor Dale Scott teaches the advanced technique of gum chewlng This home has of course lts medical department Drs Saturday n1ght The advisor of that Senior Class has changed his mode of livlng almost as much as his students have P H Burcher, , D , Ph , has had de grees galore bestowed upon him. H has retired from his teaching profession to become a U S Senator from Indiana and to devote his time to writlng.
