Seniors Gloria Powell, Bonnie Nash, and Linda May display the plaques they received at the GAA awards banquet. These plaques are achieved on a statewide basis by earning 350 points. The points are earned by participating in activities after school such as volley- ball, basketball, softball, tennis, and gymnastics and by turning in points in unorganized activities such as hik- ing, swimming, biking. and others. Gloria set a new record this year in collecting a four-year total of 604 points. Not included in this picture is Karen Huffman who was also awarded a plaque. The sportsmanship trophies were won by Gloria Powell and Bonnie Nash. The GAA oflicers for 1966-1967 are Karen Kelley, treasurerg Cheryl Hinton, vice president: Mary Van- derWende, secretary, and Linda Koehler, president. Amid the aroma of sausage and French toast members of the Pre-Engineers' Club again feasted at their an- nual spring breakfast. Sponsors Victor Haines, Robert Gilbert, Andrew Parker, and George Friedman joined guest speaker Mr. Parker Cox of Bendix and 25 club members at the 6:30 A.M. breakfast. Q 2 . Q0 ' f- Pennas foreign exchange student, Gus Soler, concludes his part in the spring AFS Convocation with a few impromptu remarks concerning his year at Penn. Thuley Kasternoch from Greece, Hilda Ulrich from South Africa, Anne Notley from New Zealand, and Vincetine Loajo from liquador were the foreign exchange students from other area schools who took part in the program along with Gus. Senior student council president Linda May was the moderator. Mrs. Stana Bohnlein, school nurse, performs one of her many routine duties as she checks the temperature of senior Vicki Moon. Mrs. Bohnlein has been on the Penn staff for the past eight years. Miss Trudy Slaby of the Penn social studies de- partment goes all out in her bid for nomination for county clerk. She is the first Penn High School teacher to seek public oflice. Penn stu- dents and many faculty members eagerly cam- paigned. 84
