Holmes pumped in 12 field goals and added 10 free throws in the game to set a new school of 44 points, Stan Yoder set the old mark of 43 against the same team CNilesJ last year. l SEVEN ARMS, ONE BALL-Seven out- stretched arms reach for the ball as Penn and Nappanee do battle in a game in the PHS gym won by the Bulldogs. Penn play- ers Ron Armour C445 and Glen Stevenson C425 join a pair of Nappanee cagers in reach- ing for the ball. Looking on for the Kings- men are Steve Rockenbaugh C221 and Dick Fulmer Cfar rightj.

Penn uintet Wz'ns usz' Two in J55-356 FOLLOW THE LEADER? Riley's Bob Churchwell f54j and Tom Putt seem to be playing follow the leader as they fight Penn forward Paul Niinne for a rebound, Minne won the battle. With our record standing at 1-12, we then won our only other game of the season, rapping jackson, 79-53 behind the 19 point efforts of senior star.Don Holmes andjunior center Ron Frantz. Despite playing their best ball of the season in the last seven outings, the team dropped all seven, several in thrillers. A poor Penn second period helped Concord slip past us, Bremen rallied in the third period to trip us by 13 points, and St. joseph's needed a last ditch rally to nip our spirited Kingsmen by a trio of points. We concluded the regular season with a pair of close setbacks, losing to Niles 74-70 despite Holmes' scor- ing a school record 44 points, and lost a 72-70 thriller to Clay. Coach Brady will have back eight of his 12 varsity members for this winter, as he losesjust Holmes, Fulmer, Ron Armour and Glen Stevenson. Varsity members re- turning are Frantz, Phil Singleton, Steve Rockenbaugh, Tim Clark, Minne, Gary Wordinger, Gary Shanklin, and Roger Weldy. AFTERMATH OF A COLLISION: Pennis Phil Singleton Qdark uniformj and St. VIoseph's Larry Radecki occupy spots on the floor after the two collided in Hghting for the ball, Looking on are Terry Klysz of St. .Ioe C4Zj Nlark Hurtubise Q34j, Kingsman Dick Fulmer O35 and Terry Smith ofthe Indians Cfar rightb. Penn senior speedster Dick Fulmer presents a colorful sight as he goes up for a hook shot against Mishawaka. Trying to block the shot for the Maroons is Mike DeNeve. Mishawaka won the game in a thrilling double overtime, 71-67.
