Seniors traditionally man the concession stand for home football games, and close out the school year in grand style with the senior party, senior achieve- ment day, baccalaureate and commencement. Jun- iors begin early and work late so the PROM can be consistently successful. Sophs become the indoor con- cessionaires when basketball replaces the pigskin and the frosh with their eagerness, give general school support where it is needed most. This year classes united through competition to sup- port worthy projects such as project-HELP, the TB Christmas Seals Campaign, the AFS Student Ex- change Program and the never-to-be-forgotten TOR- NADO Relief Project.

Fredricka Evans and Richard Walling are first in line for the souvenir sec- tional issue of PENN POINTS. THIS WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS! As seniors we found we had an extra load on our shoulders because we were the leaders of the school organizations and set the examples for the under- classmen . . . VV e realized that our success in studies, athletics, and leadership must be at the peak because there will be no Mnext year . . . It was the year that marked the turning point for many . . . but we will always look back on our school days as a magic pro- file of life that can never be again. 1965 was a turbulent year for our school. There were the ravages of winter interrupted by school holidays Senior Barbara Rumpf, 2 salutatorian of the , l Class of '65, uses the occasion of a dress re- hearsal for her saluta- tory preparation. new smifu.m.tr,,fWr,,.., Senior Officers: Bob Cropsey, Vice Presidentg Jackie Geerligs, Sec- retaryg and Bruce Erich Smith, Presidentg have an informal of- ficers' meeting in the choral room of the school. and the hootenanny of victory at the North Side gym and the ravages of spring and the explosive pow- er of the tornado which scarred our community. But there were other things to remember too. New couples paired offgold ones broke up. College plans were made:-engagements announced. VVe attended graduation rehearsals and studied for final exams. On the first of June we held our formal graduation. For the senior class, 1965 had a very final sound. But we had left our mark on Penn High, and Penn, as surely had left its mark on us. Last minute preparation for soci- ology class. Senior Larry Auten finds a cozy nook to finish the last chapter of the assignment.
