ROW THREE: Miss Karen Goebel, Pat mg Hums, Marsha Montgomery, Brenda Blade, Carolyn Weiss, Susan Augustine, Marge Marvel, Mrs. Barone. ROW FOUR: Joy Yackley, Karen Matchette, Diane Manges, Eva Weldy, Katrina Hayden, Linda Sisk, Marcella VanDamrne. The Future Nurses Club, a service organization for girls who anticipate careers in nursing, had one pri- mary club activity, Before the holiday season mem- bers of the club made candy Christmas wreaths. These were sold to raise money to adopt an orphaned Indian child, Marilyn Howling Wolf. Qther activities of the club included the annual ini- tiation, preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes, a Christmas party, a field trip, and a closing 4Get-Togetheri. Regular monthly meetings were used' for guest speakers who spoke on the different phases of nursing. The officers for the year 1964-65 were: President, Martha Nichol, Vice President, Barbara Slaven, Sec- retary, Sue Hoffman, Treasurer, Linda Troup. The club is sponsored by Miss Karen Goebel and Mrs. Barone. Members of the Red Cross Club busy at what comes nat- urally Chelping othersj. Robert Horvath, Pat Vandenberg, Mary Barnett, Joan Nemes, and JoAnn Zugbaum all mem- bers of the club sort out clothing to be given to the Family and Children's Center. Cylubhtembms The activity highlight of the year for the Junior Red Cross Club was the YVater Safety Show. This all day exhibition of safety techniques was witnessed by the entire student body. A car wash and a bake sale gave us funds needed to assist needy families at Christmas time. In the spring we launched a clothing drive to help the less for- tunate at the Family and Children's Center in Mis- hawaka. Another spring activity was the field trip the club took to the Westville, Indiana hospital. Mr. Bob Brady sponsored our group and he was as- sisted by President Joan Nemes, Vice President Steve Grove, Treasurer Linda Allison and Secretary Sue Wordinger. wsasrssrzwsmawii:ss
